What's New in StepMat 1.6: Social Features, Groups, and Comparison Stats

I am kicking off the new year with a massive set of updates! The 1.6.x series is all about connecting with others, managing your circles, and understanding your progress better than ever before. Whether you're a lone wolf or a social stepper, there's something here for you.

1.6.0: The Social Redesign 🤝

Released back in December, the 1.6.0 update laid the foundation for a completely new social experience in StepMat.

Redesigned Social Page

I've overhauled the Social Page so you can instantly see who among your friends handles the most steps. It's now easier than ever to get that extra bit of motivation seeing your friends crush their goals.

Groups & Chat

StepMat now supports Groups! You can join or create groups to walk together towards common goals. Along with groups, I've added chat functionality so you can cheer each other on (or trash talk friendly rivalries) directly within the app.

Easy Invites

Connecting is seamless:

Join/Invite to Groups via Links: Share a link, and your friends are in.
Add Friends via Links: No more searching for usernames manually.

Heart Progression & Globetrotter

I've also introduced Heart Progression Levels to visualize your fitness journey better, and I've added even more countries to the Globetrotter feature for those virtually walking the world.

1.6.2: Take Control of Your Groups 🛡️

Building on the social features, update 1.6.2 gives you the tools to manage your communities effectively.

Group Management: As an admin, you can now rename, leave, or delete a group completely.
Moderation: Keep your groups safe and focused. You can now ban and unban people from your groups if necessary.
More Globetrotter: I didn't stop exploring—even more countries have been added!

1.6.4: Deep Dive into Stats & Profiles 📊

My latest release, 1.6.4, lands today with a focus on you.

Daily Comparison Card

The "Message to Timeline" has been renamed and upgraded. You now have a Daily Comparison Card that gives you a clear snapshot of how you stack up against your average performance.

Advanced Statistics

I've added robust statistics for users.

Compare Yourself: See how you measure up against your friends.
Vs. Bots: Even if you don't have friends on the app yet, you can compare your stats against the bots to gauge your performance levels.
